Join us for the last planting event in 2021 to get your hands dirty, meet others & heal country

Due to the Covid19 lockdown in SA at the end of July we had to postpone our heal country community planting event. We are so pleased to be able to invite you to the final planting event for 2021 being held this Saturday at the reserve from 2pm-4pm. Everyone is welcome. Please BYO chair, rug, gloves, cuppa and join in a relaxed afternoon of planting the last of the Indigenous bush garden seedlings and spreading some mulch. Or if you just want to come along to have a cuppa and a chat, that is also completely fine. There is no pressure to stay for the whole 2 hours either. We would love to see you for whatever time you can spare and for whatever activity that you would like to get involved in. Please see the flyer attached for the details that were letterbox dropped to the local neighbourhood (very last minute, please accept my sincere apologies, it's been a big week that thwarted my letterbox drop efforts until we scooted around tonight and finally got them distributed)

As you may already be aware, there is also a new playground on the horizon being organised, funded and delivered by the City of Onkaparinga playground folk. There was a community consultation process that happened around the end of July-start of August. All of the community feedback that was taken on board will go back to the design team and we will see a final design shortly. Watch that space! What an exciting time to see a much needed upgrade to the tired old playground. Hopefully you had a chance to submit your feedback. If you would like to send in any other feedback about what you do or don't want to see happen at the reserve please feel free to flick an email to GSRcommunitygroup@gmail.com and we can help pass it onto the Community Connections Officer at the City of Onkaparinga (who then will help us to get it to where it needs to go to in order to find an answer!)

Thanks everyone for your interest, support and/or on the ground contributions so far. It's been so good to get to know a few more neighbours around the area and to see improvements at the reserve coming to life.

See you around the place or at the reserve

This work is thanks to the support of the Neporendi Aboriginal Forum and Sustainable Onkaparinga, particularly the Conservation team and Community Connections team
