A Community Revegetation Project

Breathing life back into Godfrey Street Reserve for the benefit of our local community and to help improve biodiversity in our neighbourhood.

Welcome to Godfrey Street Reserve - A Revegetation Project - an opportunity for our neighbourhood to reap the benefits of breathing life back into our spacious but undervalued community reserve. In collaboration with City of Onkaparinga Council, we have the chance to beautify this open green space which in turn will make our reserve more inviting for local people and local biodiversity.

We are right on the fringe of the recently proclaimed Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta (you can see the back of it from the reserve when you look at O'Halloran Hill Recreation Park because this is part of the National Park) and we have the most incredible views of any reserve around! Who else can see from the ocean right across the CBD and around through to Mt Lofty and the Adelaide Hills from their local community reserve?!

This under-valued and under-utilised open space has so much potential to be so much more for our neighbourhood! Who would like to see it grow from what it is now to an inviting green space with opportunities for free unstructured play for children, including nature play elements for exploration and adventure, places to sit quietly and enjoy the views, places to meet up with neighbourhood friends or to play as a family, an inviting spot to walk the dog or just sit quietly and take in the butterflies and birds that would be attracted to the new plants, bushes and trees? Come and join us to  bring life to this reserve and in turn, bring this dream to life!
