A really wonderful day was had on Saturday August 28. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us on the day. We had an incredible turnout from all across the neighbourhood and some new folk came along too to join in and it was so great to have you there. There are so many fascinating stories from across our neighbourhood and it was great to have the chance to share them while we were planting and mulching. The rain held off until right after we finished and then it really poured which was perfect for all of the new seedlings that we managed to get in the ground.
This was the last planting event for this planting season and it is the end of the work that we had to do as part of the Public Place Improvement Grant that we had from the City of Onkaparinga but we are already thinking about what might be next for Godfrey Street Reserve. A huge thank you to Leanne Lawrence, Priah Dean and Elijah Bravington from the City of Onkaparinga for all of the contributions and support that they have given to this project. It wouldn't have been possible without you. We have really enjoyed working with you.
We will continue to work with Leanne and Priah and Sustainable Onkaparinga to revegetate this reserve. We are looking forward to hearing back from the playground crew at the City of Onkaparinga about what is planned for the playground upgrade which is due to happen sometime soon.
In the meantime, we are hoping to organise another community event sometime soon so please keep an eye on this page and on your letterbox for another flyer to spread the word.
