It has been warm and dry and keeping the seedlings from our August plantings well soaked has been a challenge but many of the seedlings are loving their new home in the ground at the reserve and are loving the ever-so-slightly brutal direct sun and heat that our reserve is subjected to every summer!

Check out these photos! It is so exciting to see so much growth on some of these seedlings!

Unfortunately there are also some seedlings that have not fared so well in the tough conditions but we are just starting out on our revegetation journey with this big open green space and we are learning a lot of lessons about the soil and the impacts of the conditions on the different types of plant species.

We are looking forward to more planting sessions to come this winter! Watch this space!

Take care 'til next time
